Crazy Theory: Heath Ledger is Not Dead

Welcome to the first edition of Crazy Theories, in which I let out my inner conspiracy theorist and make sometimes-ridiculous theories.  The logic used is intentionally crap, and I do not seriously believe in some of the theories I come up with, like the following:

Heath Ledger. The beloved actor we know for many roles, the last one being The Joker in The Dark Knight. Chances are, you know that he died due to a drug overdose. Or did he?

The Dark Knight is one of the highest grossing films in history. Why might this be? Apparently Heath had established a huge, huge fanbase that wanted to see him in his final completed film.

You wanna know what I think of this? Heath's death was faked in a brilliant marketing attempt to get rich.
And it worked.  In fact, Heath's probably living it up with Elvis and Jimi right now.

Really, is there any other way that the movie could have possibly appealed to such a large audience otherwise? I mean, it's a movie about a semi-sane man fighting crime in all black clothes. At night. Oh yeah, and he does some ninja stuff too. And then there's the constant theme of terrorism in the film. Faces getting cut open, people being tortured, pencils going through heads- it all makes a strange combination, don't you think?

Heath Ledger gave the performance of a lifetime in
The Dark Knight, and really did steal the show. Then he died. Many fans probably would have felt guilty if they did not see the movie just to pay their respects. Guilt is not a nice feeling.

Being so loved by moviegoers, why would anyone want out?  They get tired of being stalked by the media, for one thing.  Very little privacy at all.  Heath likely got sick of being a celebrity, and because he earned Warner Bros. such a ridiculous amount of money, they would help him escape the celebrity lifestyle.

WB would want their movie to be as successful as possible, so they probably thought 'let's fake the death of someone the people love.  A lot."  Who other than Heath Ledger?

Warner Bros. would surely be able to pull it off.  I mean, they have billions of dollars to spend on this, after all.  And they also happen to be the guys who made Looney Tunes (and even Tom & Jerry for a bit), so one would think that they would know how to get away with stuff by now.

But then there's a problem: Everyone thinks Heath is dead, so how is Batman 3 going to compete with such an amazing predecessor?  You can't just bring someone back to life after their death is all over the newspapers.

Simple: 'Reveal' to the people that The Dark Knight actually was Heath's second-to-last completed film, and that his parts in Batman 3 were just about completed during the production of Dark Knight.
